Background & Experience
Chris brings a hands-on engineering background that spans both the building and securing of software systems. His career includes developing backend services and CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated test frameworks using Java, Cucumber, and Selenium, and serving as an Application Security Champion — the designated advocate for secure development practices, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps adoption across the software development lifecycle.
He has built automated security tooling from the ground up, including a Streamlit-based vulnerability analyzer for AWS Inspector findings and a GitLab CI/CD pipeline for automated database documentation. He has also led migrations from legacy SAST tooling to integrated pipeline-based static analysis, and implemented identity and access management solutions at scale using SailPoint and OAuth 2.0.
Before his software career, Chris served 10 years in the United States Air Force as an avionics technician and team leader, maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical systems on F-15 and B-2 aircraft. He was recognized as the 2011 Avionics Supervisor of the Year by Air Force Global Strike Command. That background in high-stakes systems, disciplined troubleshooting, and technical leadership directly informs how he covers security and quality engineering today.
